How It Works (Honda Selectable Torque Control/Honda Traction Control)
The system uses the ABS wheel speed sensors on both the front and rear wheels to constantly monitor their rotation.
The Problem: If you accelerate on a slippery surface (like sand, wet manhole covers, or loose gravel) and the rear wheel starts spinning faster than the front wheel, you lose traction and the bike can slide out.
The HSTC Intervention: The moment the ECU (the bike’s “brain”) detects this speed difference, it instantly reduces engine torque. It does this by minutely adjusting the fuel injection.
The Result: The rear wheel slows down just enough to regain grip with the road, preventing a skid or a fall.
